Bray Good Friday

+I apologise for the delay in updating the blog ,but you didnt miss much news except a 0-0 draw in Bray.

Bray is a dump , fuck all to do but play a game of ball on the beach before the game ,the beach is not a beach it is infact a few stones with a grass patch in front of it.

The ground is an absolute dump, worse than the RSC and thats saying something .
The carlisle grounds are situated next to the train station and the beach.
Tickets can be bought outside the ground at a hut , they are a reasonable price tenner for adults and 6 for u-16 / oaps.
The ground has one stand which is uncovered on the beach side so a cold breeze is coming form behind. The rest of the ground is just rubbish The side were you walk in is a grass heap behind the other goal is a car park and the far side is a wall with the dugouts in the middle , the players facilities are awful aswell the dressing rooms are pre-fabs which would be considered as poor for a aul team. The pitch was good about the only positive thing that i+s to be said about this awful place.

I would also like too thank Andy Gibson for his brilliantly ran bus to the game. No trouble or hassle and only a quick stop going up and back. Keep It up and Id recommend it to everyone.

The game was not the greatest, Bray even at home were delighted to settle for a point.
City fans as always travelled in big numbers and the Bray stewards looked under more pressure than the Bray defense.
The anti- Devlin banners seemed to anger the Bray fans / stewards. These people are complete idiots , the supporters are stewards the ones who are not stewards are complete idiots who are a mixture of a farmer and a jackeen scanger. The stewards are worse the Jd and that is saying something the lack common sense especially the female one they have no right to damge property that does not belong to her.
The match was just going on in the backround during this.
Nothing major happened in the 1st half except for George O Callaghans injury , he was replaced
by Admir Softic , one of the few players to play well in the game.
Pictures and rest of the report to follow

Euphoric Evening

What a game!!! Firstly I have too put alittle dampner on the game best too keep it short and sweet. Jd security are the worst group of stewards I have seen in my life they are inept to deal with any major situation but they come down hard on people who are having innocent fun such as I was doing last night - Bringing in confetti too the ground but when people who are not associated with this club and are not even classed as fans begin too spit and throw bottles onto the pitch these idiots dont do anything about it.

I really enjoyed last night to be honest it was the best game ive been at since last November. Every moment was enjoyable except when the penalty was awarded but we returned too nothing short of euphoric when the ball was saved by Mark Mc Nulty who played excellent all night pulling off a number of world class saves most notable the save in the St Annes end shortly before half time. The goals were not spectacular but once it hits the net I couldnt care less.
Colin O Briens goal came after Shels were slightly on top after defensive errors by the City back four. Throughout the night Shels players were put off their game by the vibrant City support mostly coming from the Derrynane side of the ground , Bobby Ryan was subjected too alot of abuse after coming off of the bench but the best moment of the night was when Kearney challenged Neal Horgan but fell on his arse . Neale Fenn doubled Citys tally as he took a shot form close range that went in off of Dean Delaney.
All in all a good game which City won 2-0 mainly thanks to Mark Mc Nulty.
Roll on Bray Friday Night as this is the biggest Confidence booster a team can get.

7 hours 10 minutes and counting

Team News for City - Mick Devine is set too be ruled out with a knee injury for several weeks (even though Neal Spillage thinks hes a 50/50 chance) but Mark Mc Nulty is an apt replacment for him. John O Flynn is 50/50 (according too lietel so dont take much notice) Alan Bennett is expected too return from a hamstring injury which will result in Cillian Lordan moving too the bench

Shelibans team news - Gregory O'Judasorann has a toe injury, Hawkins is suspended , Joeseph Ndo is expected too return and Owen Heary is expected too return too the starting elven aswell.

Match Report and Pictures too follow after the game

Anyone who would like too give a hand with distributing confetti tonight (i have about 7 newspaers cut up) can give me an email alansmithccfc@gmail.com

The weekend begins................................................

Firstly before I start I have too give some love too Commandos 84 for the orginisation of the "Designated Singing section" . Things went well (but for two wankers sitting behind me singing Celtic songs) . The atmosphere was brilliant and Green White army is still ringing in my ears. I apologise for not having much confetti. I already have a shopping bag full for monday , people can take a fistful from me before the game. The match last night was boring ,only for the atmosphere we would of been asleep.

I have stated that I wont chant John O Flynns name but I will give credit where it is due , without him so far this season we would be struggling and time is a healer. The 2nd goal was comical, an awful error by the defender and O ' Flynn just walked the ball into the net. Mick Devines Injury does not look good . He came out too punch the ball and fell awkwardly and he has damged his knee. Hopefully its not too serious but he could be out for a while which is dissapointing but in Mark Mc Nulty we have a suitable and apt replacement.

Well done too the lads who are making an effort with Banners etc for Monday night. It should be a good night and I hope everyone is willing too participate in the singing and chanting in all parts of the ground and make it a night too Remember , although somehow I think Fenlon will rest the two most recent Judases. They will be on the bench for starters. Then again I could be wrong

I am also beginning with Mondays match putting pictures from the game into the blog and as always I would like too get more feedback from people reading the blog.

Drooooooooooooolllllllllll

What a weekend we have in store. Two games in one weekend is always good but for all sports fans its a huge weekend. Augusta started today and will provide some late night Sport. The Aintree Grand National is on Saturday afternoon . But for all City fans Monday night is the biggest sporting event of 2006 so far the return of our arch nemesis.

I cant wait the excitement has been buliding inside me since Monday night. I havent thought about the Longballford match much . I think we shall expect the most boring game of football seen since our last meeting with the team from the bog. I think they will play an attacking formation for their staandards 7--2-1. The return of those former acquaintances too the cross on Monday night is mouth watering . Banners are in the making Confetti is been cut . I have converted one of my teachers into City and he is even looking forward too the game.

We must not forget about the Longball either this is important. We need too score goals . It will be tough but a win is needed against this type of opposition.

In other news due too that Connor fella getting suspended Drkgheda have requested too add another keeper too the Setanta Cup squad but the Tournament organisers have rejected this.

This will be a very busy blog over the weekend so Keep reading and as always please leave a comment . All feedback will be replied and Criticsm is always welcome once its constructive

I think we should be as hostile as possible but dont be violent , dont act the langer and throw bottles etc. I am confident our players can hurt him enough for us but be as vocal colourful. Boo their every touch Chant every chant make those $CUMBAGS SHIT THEIR PANTS.
Be prepared Liam be prepared

University College Dublin

Ucd are one of 3 clubs hindering the leagues improvments.
First of all the game was 0-0 not much too report as I wasnt at the game but I must say that fellow on the radio is a great commentator NOT!!! Greg or favourite oompah loompah made some great comments throughout the game the pick of them has too be" City are getting into the game now " with 3minutes too go. 150 city fans made the trip but they were left dissapointed with a poor game, the official forums were even quiet.
How can we improve?
Now back too my point above Ucd and 2 other clubs ( Waterford United & Dublin City are dragging this league back sown too where it was a few years back.
These are the reasons for it
Ucd - They are a college not a Football Club
No fans and the worst ground for players too visit in the country
The club do not have there own website( the colleges website has a page for soccer) website thats how much of a small time club they are.
This is just the tip of the Iceburg

Dublin City - No fans at all .
Homeless and move around grounds in Dublin.

Waterford United - They play in the Rsc need I say more???

These teams have too be taken out of the league if we want too improve , and teams such as Shamrock Rovers brought back too the top, Rovers are hated but one cant deny that they are the most historic club in this country and are finally getting back on their feet after those awful financial setbacks but I think these clubs should get a chance too get their acts together also and Waterford are making progress ewith news that
FAIlures
The last paragraph has just made me think about the Fai and how stupid John Delaney and co can be most of the time , news broke out during the week that Delaney has a dark plot too sell the offices at Merrion Square too fund the Lansdowne redevelopment. Only the FAIlures. So before I say good-bye that redevelopment is badly needed as Lansdowne is the worst ground ( used internationally) I have seen.

Cathal Lordan , Ollie the Q&A and Ucd

I havent posted since Monday because not much has been going on with CCFC in the last couple of days there were some small bits of news but nothing major

Cathal Lordan began training today and is expected too be a City player by the weekend.
Cathal was released by Ipswich and hopes too join his Brothe Cillian at Turners Cross.

Ollie Byrne held a question and Answers session with Shels Web last night (wednesday) too view the webchat which includes several Questions from City supporters CLICK HERE.

City travel too Belfield Park too face the bogey team tommorrow night and I think most people would be Delighted with a win here as Belfield is the worst ground too visit in the League and we always seem too Struggle here. George O Callaghan is suspended and John O' Flynn and Alan Bennett are doubtful.

Thanks for your emails so far and keep reading.
